The Healing Power Of The Sea

Discover the therapeutic and healing effects of sea water
Seawater - Blog Beauty from the Root

We all know that seawater is a natural source of natural minerals thanks to its salinity. We also know that there are places where such salinity and mineral concentration is more intense than in others and that is due to various environmental and geographical factors.

What few know is that sea water not only has therapeutic properties on our skin and in our state of mind, but if we ingest it it also has alkalizing and healing properties in our body.

It is very important to know that seawater should not be ingested without first having been treated and microfiltered, thus eliminating all organic matter in it, as well as any trace of impurity that it may contain due to its exposure to the environment from where the water is obtained.

It is logical to think that the more virgin the site and the greater the depth: the water will be cleaner and with little or no contaminants. However, although there are home methods to microfilter seawater, it is much more convenient to trust a laboratory that markets already filtered and bottled water to avoid any health problems.

“It is also very important not to exceed the recommended daily dose”

Benefits of sea water

Sea water is high in sodium and minerals and therefore it is important that the person who is going to be treated with it knows that they do not have any contraindications to doing so. It is also very important not to exceed the recommended daily dose, which is usually around 20ml taken and 100ml to boil food.

As I mentioned before, sea water can be used for cooking, always taking due precautions due to its high sodium content. Always keep in mind that the daily sodium intake is 2000mg and we should not exceed it.

How to use it in the kitchen

Many recipes for broths and soups can be made by substituting ΒΌ of the natural water for the sea water, to obtain the benefits of the mineral composition of sea water. When these types of recipes are made, we must take into account that we are already adding salt and sodium to our food, so we do not have to double it by adding salt to food.

It can also be used to boil vegetables, cereals or legumes, but always taking into account not to exceed the recommended dose.

Combine it with medicinal plants

There are also seawater preparations with medicinal plants for specific health uses. These preparations are cold microfiltered seawater to remove all organic matter from it and leaving only the natural minerals from the seawater itself, mixed with different medicinal plants with different benefits for our health.

For the skin, sea water in synergy with oats, burdock, sarsaparilla, pansy and dandelion and taking the mixture for 25 consecutive days and with a dose of 20mg diluted in water or juice; It is an excellent natural remedy to improve the texture of the skin and its elasticity, reduces acne, tones and purifies it.

Another preparation that at this time of year is highly recommended to alkalize the lungs and strengthen them is sea water in synergy with lungwort, thyme, sundew and plantain. The dosage and time is the same as the one mentioned above.

Always remember that these preparations are not a medicine, but rather they are preventive and that a professional should always be consulted before ingesting any medicinal plant or preparation.

I never recommend making these preparations at home, unless you have professional knowledge of hebolaria and natural medicine.

Like the rest of the medicines and drugs, natural remedies have to be used with great respect and with awareness of what is ingested, since because they are natural, the effects are much more powerful when found in their most natural state.

Where to find it

Sea water can be found in herbalists and stores specialized in natural medicine. Always ask for professional advice before you start using it.
