Strengthen Your Defenses To Eliminate Candida

When candida affects the mouth, the strategy to combat them is similar to that of vaginal infection. The goal is to increase your defenses and rebalance your flora.
Oral candidiasis

Although the species that causes the most infections is Candida albicans , lately the incidence of mycosis caused by Candida glabrata has also increased . It can give vaginal, digestive symptoms or even sometimes appear in the mouth.

An inadequate diet, certain drugs and low defenses are the main causes.

How to combat thrush

The first thing you have to know if you have symptoms or have been diagnosed with a yeast infection, whether it is in the mouth or in the vagina, is that these yeasts are in everyone.

In fact, they usually live in the mouth, the digestive tract and the vagina without causing damage, in balance with other fungi and bacteria such as acidophilus and bifidus , which keep them under control.

Only when changes in the pH and alterations in the flora take place, they progress to mycelia and colonize the tissues, which causes discomfort.

If they affect the mouth, they appear as small whitish spots or plaques on the tongue and other areas of the oral cavity. They can be annoying and unpleasant, sometimes even painful.

To eliminate them from the oral mucosa, I recommend that you take some measures:

  • Temporarily avoid some foods ,such as fruits rich in sugar, wheat or rye bread, refined carbohydrates, milk and cheeses, mushrooms and vegetables rich in starch (potato, pumpkin …).
  • Start the day with breakfast an infusion of herbs (mint, thyme, sage) and wholegrain oat flakes cooked in mineral water and sprinkled with Lactobacillus acidophilus (you can also take these probiotics in capsule).
  • Increase the consumption of green leaves, raw and sprouted vegetables.
  • Include garlic, ginger, oregano, rosemary, and other antifungal herbs in your dressings.
  • Strengthen your defenses with supplements that include nutrients such as vitamin C (1-3 g), vitamin E (400 IU), beta carotenes (25,000 IU), biotin (500 mcg), copper (3-4 mg), iron (45 mg), selenium (200-300 mcg) and zinc (45 mg). Pollen provides many of these nutrients, so you can include it in your diet, but not honey, rich in sugars that favor candida.
  • Phytotherapy is also very effective, so you can use immunostimulating plants such as echinacea (250-500 mg / day), pao d’arco (500-1,000 mg / day) or cat’s claw (300 mg / day ). They help the immunity so that the body itself fights the infection.
