Amapola Biocosmetics was already in me, but it was not born until 2004, as an answer to the question: what do I want to contribute to society? Natural alchemy.
Ecological, artisanal and vegan cosmetics
I mixed my knowledge of alchemist with my love for nature and simple cosmetic formulas emerged to take care of the skin in a healthy way, without chemical ingredients that harm the person or the environment.
We develop our activity in a town in Segovia, and within a newly constructed building with energy efficiency (what is known as a passive house ).
From this house-laboratory we elaborate all our products, controlling the entire production cycle. We are certified by the VidaSana-Bioinspecta seal.
A great little initiative
We ourselves do all the process : collect plants, prepared oleates and tinctures, develop formulations, manufacture, pack it , we label and distributed throughout Spain and Europe.
What started as a self-employment project has grown into a small large company with ten workers.
We have developed more than eighty references, we have two own stores and we distribute in more than 400 specialized points of sale.
We take care of sensitive skin
We are experts in caring for the most sensitive and reactive skin. In our catalog there are products for babies, sun protection without chemical filters, soaps, face creams, body creams or balms to treat specific problems.
My goal, as an entrepreneur, is to show that companies can be different, sustainable, and that their main objective does not have to be to make money, but to contribute something to society. Because another way of undertaking and working is possible.
Ana Isabel de Andrés trained as a pharmacist at the Complutense University of Madrid and when she finished her studies she specialized in Medicinal Plants.
He published Plants that cure: laboratory of life (Ed. Caja Segovia, 2003), and after continuing his training in cosmetology, he began to develop his own formulations.
In 2004 he opened his cosmetics manufacturing laboratory in San Cristóbal de Segovia, where today ten people work and in which he is responsible for general and technical management.
